Job Overview
We are seeking an Editor who has excellent experience in editing and improving the quality of the content of our online and print horticulture trade publications. We currently publish our print editions 3 times per year and ongoing weekly online.
As an Editor, you should have a sense of adding exciting perspectives to a story and present it creatively and engagingly. You have to plan, manage, evaluate, and revise content as the need arises.
You will also work with the design team to decide and select designs and concepts to be followed for our content pieces. The motive is to deliver extraordinary, instructive, and engaging content to our target audience on time.

Responsibilities
- Manage web content and printing cycle
- Set goals and perspectives to be followed by the HC team to engage audiences
- Propose new articles
- Supervise layout and designs. Check content for precision and mistakes
- Proofread and improve content and stories
- Liaise and collaborate with the team members like designers, advertisers, marketing reps, writers etc.
- Make sure that the media regulations are followed
- Play an active role to engage new writers
- Stay up to date with the latest horticulture industry trends
- Manage web content and printing cycle
Requirements
- Proven working practice as an Editor in the Media industry. Experience working as Assistant Editor for newspapers and magazines will also be considered
- An exceptional portfolio demonstrating writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Excellent editing skills
- Exceptional knowledge of grammar and punctuation
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
- Practical know-how of Google for Work or MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop, and other editing tools a bonus
- Knowledge of the latest social media trends
- An innovative individual having exceptional analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks at a time
- Good communication skills
- Should be a team player demonstrating excellent leadership abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts (English), Journalism or in a related field or actual work experience considered
